The Japanese Army sword (gunto) featured in this video is an original and was forged by Kanezane Asano in Seki City in the late 1930s. It was surrendered to a British officer in 1945. The 'group effort' (yosegaki) sun flag (printed with the signatures of leading wartime Japanese political leaders) is also an original period item. I filmed this sequence in my back garden, scaring a number of neighbours in the process...
